The slice that sells out fastest 😉

Tender carrot, gentle spices and silky frosting: the generous slice that built the house's sweet reputation on the Montmartre hill.
Baked on site by the chef, in the same spirit as the whole menu: seasonal produce, nothing industrial, everything made in the kitchen.
A world-famous carrot cake praised even by the English-speaking press, now an essential sweet stop on a Montmartre stroll.

You don't come to Berchoux for the carrot cake by chance. The slice is tall, the frosting generous, the crumb fragrant with gentle spices and studded with tender grated carrot. It's the dessert that stays with you after lunch on the Butte.
Served all day long, it pairs just as well with a coffee break as with the end of a meal. Enjoy it in our neighbourhood canteen, or take it away to savour on a Montmartre bench.
“A good carrot cake means time, good produce and nothing superfluous. The rest is generosity.”Julie Berchoux, chef
Before opening her table in Montmartre, Julie spent thirty years alongside Robuchon, Ducasse, Taillevent and Fauchon. She now puts that rigour at the service of unpretentious baking — and a carrot cake praised even by the English-speaking press.

Our carrot cake is part of a flexitarian, anti-waste kitchen we've run since 2020. Seasonal produce is worked on site, nothing is lost, and the indulgence is there from morning to evening.

A well-loved neighbourhood slice, homemade, right in the heart of Montmartre.
